RCSWI - Registered Intern
Laura Seigel received her B.S.W. and M.S.W. degrees from Florida International University. She is currently working as a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern Therapist helping numerous clients.
While her credentials qualify her on a professional level to assist her clients, it is truly her personal journey with grief that makes me uniquely equipped to serve those healing through grief and traumatic loss. In order to cope with grief that touched her life in such a heartbreaking way, she searched but could not find a book or any other resources that spoke to her specific type of loss and circumstances. This led to many years of personal and professional study on the topic of healing through grief and loss, leading to her current work writing a new book designed to assist others who have endured similar suffering. In the process of writing her book, she was provided with the necessary clarity, guidance, lessons and compassion that enables her to guide others who are going through the grief process. Ms. Seigel also attended the 2022 Grief Summit and will be attending the 2023 Trauma Super Conference.
Recently, she is in the process of getting certified as an EMDR therapist, and is always in the learning process – reading and learning about anxiety, depression, fear, grief, intrusive thoughts, overthinking, stress, trauma and worry so that she can be the best therapist for all of her clients. She is also a therapist to clients with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities and happily have very positive experiences assisting all of her clients.
Prior to having children, she worked at Family Resource Center’s Family Preservation Services Project and Crisis Nursery. Ms. Seigel has over 35 years volunteer community involvement at several agencies serving children and families where she earned numerous certificates of appreciation and awards for her service.
